Powell Butte Community Center, Powell Butte Oregon
Kayley and KJ
The Powell Butte Community Center is located in the fields of the picturesque agricultural haven of Powell Butte Oregon. The roads swerve slowly in between the fields and you arrive at a simple structure among the tall grasses. It was hot the day Kayley and KJ got married, the wind was still and the sun was intense. Hay bails lined the aisle to a handmade arch and robust sunflowers coloring the scene.
The bride was tucked in a back room while her and her girls got ready for the big day. Mom and Grandma checked in on her often and shared loving prayers before the guests arrived. It was sweltering in the back room where the girls got ready. They were so excited to be dressed and to head outside into the fresh air. The groom stood patiently at the alter. The incredibly adorable ring bearer wandered down the aisle straight to the groom. Then he stood and waited for his bride. Kayley, dressed in an elegantly simple strapless dress. She turned the corner and the Groom melted. The ceremony was short and sweet and performed by the Bride’s brother.
The couple both had large families and family photos followed the ceremony by a DIY hay bail. The bridal party was helpful and kept the large family gathered and flowing.
The couple headed back to the hall for dinner. The were welcomed with joy and love as new Husband and Wife.
Mid way through dinner the sun set into the smokey haze and I stole the Couple for a few minutes. We escaped by ourselves and took some fantastic photographs in the haze. The mountains were hidden behind the smoke but we used the orange sunset to our advantage. The color of the fields and the warm sunset complimented their style perfectly. The setting was picturesque but it was the combination of the Groom’s hat, the Bride’s elegant dress and the long empty country roads that made these photos perfect.
The Couple returned to the hall to dance, cut the cake and enjoy the celebration of their new love. Their community stepped up to love them deeply and start their marriage.
